Knights Show Offensive Production Against CPU

vs. CPU

Nobel Baseball had a strong showing in its first fall action, earning a 14-8 scrimmage win over CPU on October 1.

The Knights created pressure immediately, scoring eight runs in the first inning and two more in the second before adding four runs in the sixth. Nobel finished with 14 hits, seven walks and nine stolen bases.

Vinny Bobadilla led the offensive effort with three hits in four at-bats, including a triple. He scored three runs and stole four bases. Bryant Poland went 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases.

Sanchez added two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Jack Thompson also collected two hits, while Aaron Rojas and Evan Martinez each drove in two runs. Martinez added a double.

Nobel used six pitchers over seven innings and issued only three walks. Poland worked a scoreless, hitless inning, while Steven Marker and Rey Rivera also kept CPU off the scoreboard in their appearances. Martinez struck out two without issuing a walk, with all four runs scored during his inning recorded as unearned.

The scrimmage also gave Nobel clear areas to improve defensively. Five errors contributed to five unearned runs, providing the Knights with specific areas to address as they continue through the fall schedule.
